MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING AND

THE MEETING OF THE SHERIFF’S POSSE COMMUNITY

ROAD IMPROVEMENT AND MAINTENANCE DISTRICT BOARD

June 8, 2023, 5:00 P.M.

The hearing was called to order at 5:10 P.M. Attending were Shanen Lacy, Laura Ross, Randy Loemker, and two other community members.

Randy presented the proposed budget as previously shown in the hearing notice.  As there was no comment from the public, the hearing was adjourned and the Board meeting was called to order at 5:11 P.M.

1)   Minutes of the Board meetings of 4/15, 5/16, 5/18, and 5/26 were unanimously approved.

2)   In reviewing the FY24 budget, Shanen pointed out that the $200 administrative expense might be exceeded, since the Courier charge for the hearing notice had gone up to $230. Randy estimated that due to higher interest rates we could expect $2,500 in interest (other) revenue in FY24.  Thus the budget was adjusted to add $2,500 other revenue and reduce the drawdown from reserves by a like amount. The revised budget was approved unanimously.

3)   Randy reported on an estimate from Earth Resources to

      a) Chip seal Butterfly Ridge Road -- $8,645

      b) Re-pave the 40' stretch of SPT at Weekes -- $6,672

      c) Install a 12" CMP pipe below the above asphalt -- $4,600

      d) Mobilization cost -- $4,000

Randy intends to have further discussion about (d) and seek further clarification and prior examples of (c) prior to a final decision.  The latter is somewhat of a middle ground between the experiment proposed at the last meeting and a full French drain project.

4)    Call to the public added nothing further.

5)    The meeting was adjourned at 5:57 P.M.
