MINUTES OF THE MEETING  OF THE BOARD OF THE

SHERIFF’S POSSE COMMUNITY ROAD IMPROVEMENT AND MAINTENANCE DISTRICT

November 3, 2016  5:00 P.M.

Corner of Sheriffs Posse Trail and Bentley Rd

(Agenda #1)  The meeting was called to order at 5:01 P.M.  Noel Gormay, Joe Veranth, Laura Ross and two other community members attended.

(Agenda #2)  Joe moved approval of the minutes of the July 20 meeting.  Noel seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

(Agenda #5) Since Mike has become ineligible to serve out his term, Noel moved that we appointment Laura Ross as Board member till her regular term begins on January 1.  Joe seconded and the motion passed unanimously.  Since Laura had already taken the oath of office, she participated as a member of the Board for the remaining items.

(Agenda #4) Noel presented a snow-removal bid from Specialty Paving, who was recommended by Carescape.  They had received all the client information from Carescape and provided a bid the same as what Carescape had been charging.  Joe moved that we accept the bid, Noel seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

(Agenda #6) The only suggested agenda item for a future meeting was to approve a contractor once we get bids on road maintenance work to be discussed later in this meeting.  An agenda item to sort out which Board member is doing what can wait till May.  Meanwhile, Joe will take on Mike’s responsibilities as Clerk.

(Agenda #7)  No additional meeting dates were set.

(Agenda #8) During the call to the public, Bob Lambert asked about the County pothole repair contract, and Noel reported that it was out for bids and anticipated that it would be done in December.  It will include a trough for water to flow across Sheriff’s Posse Trail.

(Agenda #2) The walk-around focused on three issues.  Sheriff’s Posse Trail is clearly deteriorating as a result of the spring at the Gentle Breeze intersection, but since the repair is still a gamble it was decided to wait to see what develops.  A 150-foot stretch of eroding ditch on Weekes Rd along Danowski’s lot has potential for costly  damage if not repaired, so we will get bids to move the ditch a couple feet further from the road and fortify it with rip-rap.  A couple of shorter sections of ditch on the east side of Wolverton Trail exhibit a similar but much less severe condition, and we plan to fix that at the same time.  Joe will draw up a request for bids and send it to Noel.

Our walk-around also noted a couple of issues that should be the responsibility of the homeowner.  Please make sure the culverts under your driveways are clear and that water/silt isn’t allowed to flow down the ditch alongside your driveway and onto the public road.

(Agenda #9) The meeting was adjourned at 5:37 P.M.
